Friday I was quoted in a news item about the world's smallest snowman.

For more, there was a short interview with me discussing my writing and stuff on the wonderful writer's site Fictionaut.

To read about the start of the snowman project, there's an old post here on Open Salon that goes into that.

How very darling! Thank you for sharing these. I especially love the one with Shirley Temple. Thanks again!
Loving the one with the orange carrot nose and the wide grin and spiky hair! Thanks Bob!
Bob, another wonderful group of photos! Nice to see a snowwomen in photo number three.
Love the ones with the cats!
That snowman with the girl in the swimsuit is kinda creepy.
btw, how does one become a snowman expert?
Thanks all. Thought we needed a contrast from the all the tawdry news items (e.g. Tiger, and even here a lot of posts lately with WTF...). Back to innocence.

As you go back in time, women figured more predominately in snow sculptures but they, unfortunately, predate photography.
Hi Chris–without trying to be funny, seven years of research with the cooperation of the leading experts in cultural and art history! I ate and drunk snowmen during that whole time.
These are truly very sweet, Bob. A reminder that folks in the "olden days" had fun too!
Wow, Snowman overload. In a cute way;) Love these.
7 years?? And all you ate was ice???? That is crazy.
I'm going to try and recreate that beach guy this winter on Lake Michigan, not sure I'll be posing in my suit next to him though!
Wow!
The snowman in the first pic isn't bad at all--that cat sure has some talent!
;-)
I don't know why but I like the stick-eyed one the best. Something about all the others' eyes that's a bit unsettling. Great pictures!
Bob,
Very cool. If you look at these before you've had your morning coffee, the images are definitely creepy. But then I remember how much fun I had as a kid making snowmen, and that feeling dissipates.
Great fun! Every photo was precious. Happy Holidays!!
@designator,
You mean to say there were snowwomen in that pic as in more than one snowwoman?
OM stole my comment. Well, she actually beat me to the punch. So I'll just say DITTO!

No, I won't. I'll just say these are marvelous, and the historical significance (or lack thereof) doesn't detract from their appeal in any way. :-D
This just absolutely made my day. I pick snowpersons over more Tiger any day. Thanks!!
Great to see more of the incredible collection!
