Let's Go To The Duck Pond...

Rate: 11 Flag

DuckPond3

Okay, I have to admit that the duck pond we are going to visit is not exactly a duck pond.  It's kind of a very large puddle in a vacant lot that the city neglected to clean up after the heavy rains two years ago.  The water has been collecting in it ever since.

Anyway, you, dear reader, did not open my blog to see me yap on and on.  You wanted to see ducks, so here they are...

DuckPond1

Lovely view here, wouldn't you agree?  Who would ever guess that this is some old vacant lot near a park that the city has left because it doesn't want to clean it up.

But wait!  I have more pictures because those ducks looked yummy to me and I had to watch them for a long time.

DuckPond2

Ah, there they are.  They can just jump into Cait's oven any moment and I'd be one happy kitty.  Oooo... I am hungry now.

DuckPond4

Peaceful, happy ducks.  I'd be peaceful if they'd come a little closer so I could catch one.  Well, I'll just have to settle for kibbles, poo.  Yes, there is a lot of that on the sidewalk.  Aren't you glad I didn't take a picture to show you.  It's really yucky.  Where are those city employees?  Laid-off?!  Well, hire them back!  That duck poo is gross and someone could slip on it.  Yuck!

Okay, never mind.  That concludes our nature photos for today.

Blittie, ya' gotta' learn to swim~~
Yes indeed. In my human life, I was a pretty good swimmer. It's this damned fur!
Thanks for visiting. I hope you liked the ducks. It turned out only to be a mirage after all.
Best Wishes,
Blittie
This was so neat... What no Canadian Geese there?:)
rated with hugs
I can only guess it ain't quite deep enough for fish too Blittie.
Just green goo and nice slime for those ducks to eat.
But the pictures are cute.
Oh yes! Lots of Canadian Geese. In the top left hand corner of the middle picture, you can see one.
I really wanted the picture of the heron that visits there, but he was taking the day off.
Thanks everyone!
Best Wishes,
Blittie
Hey Blittie, come visit my pond across the street, lots of ducks, geese and room to romp!

Buffy
I love ducks! I've always found them absolutely, whimsically fascinating. I haven't found a good place to watch them here in Tucson, save the zoo and our Desert Museum, but thanks for letting me live vicariously!
Blittie, I'm glad you didn't notice me out on the limb.
Now leave those ducks alone you naughty cat you.
R
Thanks guys!
Yes, I thought it was you the day I saw a heron at the pond. Don't worry though: those Canadian geese would rip my head off. They're pretty fiesty.
Best Wishes,
Blittie
Nature photos from a cat's perspective - now that's living! R
Them ducks look good on the hoof, but trust me, they real greasy. Chicken's what you want, Blittie. Have Cait take you to the farm!
Excellent presentation of some excellent ducks. Thank yee, Blittie.
Aren't all ponds just abandon holes that filled up with water? And watch out for the ducks, they are mean when they want to be.
I love ducks too. Especially with a nice orange sauce!! Teeheeehee!! Oops, I mean, lovely ducks, delicious ducks...now I'm hungry too!! WAAA!! :D
Yes, let's do. BTW, is that your own handwriting, Blittie? It's sooo beautiful! What's your secret?

Lurve, HG
Thank you everyone! I loved watching those ducks, for culinary reasons of course, so I am glad you liked watching them too.
I love all your comments. Giggles all around!
Best Wishes,
Blittie
