I remember yesterday,
she was just breath away;
looking forward to tomorrow
could have been my cause for sorrow
waiting on what might be coming
only to be guest of
what just might have been,
leaves us in a borrowed place
losing, “in the moment”
to another space.

Looking too far ahead
or dwelling the melancholy past
keeps us all from finishing,
finishing dead last at best
for we miss the unattended time
we waste while waiting for our bus to come
when all we really need right now,
is now.
