My Doorstep Garden May 28, 2012

The flowers in the photos of my doorstep garden, are "knock out" roses which are disease resistant hardy floribundas. Snap dragon, hosta, wave petunia, starts of sunflowers for my back yard, delphinium, lavendar, some succulents and ornamental grass. Later… Read full post »
My Letter to a Stranger
Although we have never met, I silently watch your struggles.
My heart lurched when you screamed at your twelve year old son.
I saw you clutch your stomach, your brow…
What to do?
Sorting the clutter out in one's psyche, can be both joyful and painful. Our relatively peaceful existence can be overshadowed by uncertainty, a lack of trust and fear. I have always said, “never make a major decision if emotions are high or if something unforeseen has happened that throws… Read full post »

The most dangerous bridge on Earth
The most dangerous bridge on earth is named the "ratline" that crosses the river of gossip. It's a place where tongues, like little rudders on a leaky skiff, manuever their way through murky water. The bridge that too many go out of their way to cross.
Blocking an existing bridg… Read full post »

"What you allow is what you teach." Stephen Raffaele
Liars and Politics
Veracity
When one makes promises that can’t be kept, then there comes a time that the person who made the promises finds themselves in a very difficult position, with little or no way out… That is when they try to strategize and even lie in order to persuade. Instead, don’t ever… Read full post »

Remembering Auntie
Some years back, I went from my home here in Washington to visit my Auntie Charlotte in Evansville Indiana to once again bask in her unwavering love. She was my Angel.
She had a southern wit, a good guitar and she was not only a great song writer-poet, but she… Read full post »

An old soul is my granddaughter. She said, "people need to stop using religion to be biggotted" and my niece replied, "Religion is the excuse for most stupid and violent acts and spirituality is the reason for most amazing and selfless acts. The key is to know the difference."

He Was In Obvious Pain
He took a few steps and groaned. I was one aisle over in the grocery store. I couldn't see him but I could hear him. I pushed my cart around and a man, around 60 to 65 stood tautering on an old wooden cane. He was very thin and he didn't… Read full post »

I wrote back to my Son on Health Care Reform
Congress has turned more parliamentarian than representative
and our
civil liberties are disappearing... We can write
to each one of our senators and representatives until our fingers
bleed and they will still vote along
party lines. This health care bill is suppose to be voted on
by a supe… Read full post »
Health Care Reform
We have allowed congress, (both houses,) to become
parlimentary instead of representative and that is why the
people of this country distrust them so venemously.
Lamar Alexander, as I saw it, wanted something to be passed instead
of nothing at all. So therefore, he presented first steps… Read full post »

25 things about me, how about you? I would like to know
1- I was born a poor white child
2- I was raised where the redwoods meets the sea. It's a spiritual place.
3- I birthed and raised six children and they have blessed me with sixteen grandchildren. Some went to college some didn't. Four out of six make

"It is what it is" an apathetic cop out?
The way the phrase "it is what it is" is a dismissal in my veiw. It irritates me. It's also a rediculous phrase. It's like saying, "you are so much the way you are." DUH
Here is the rub for me:
What about wreckage left behind if you have hurt someone… Read full post »
