Blogging: 90s Talk Shows
I strongly suspect that blogging will become what Talk Shows were in the 90s:
Just about everyone will haveone, but only few are worthwhile, and even fewer will survive when the surge is over!

Lions, and Tigers, and Boy Bands. Oh My!
Do you think the boys in boy bands ever look back and think "what the hell was I/were we thinking??"
(The exception to this would be the few stand outs who go on to have accomplished careers. And by accomplished, I mean holding Janet Jacks… Read full post »
The Futility of (Me) Being Fashionable
Anyone who's known me for any length of time will easily testify to my simple, comfortable clothing style. And I use the term "style" rather loosely. I have never been a fashion queen, and was well in to my late teens before I even realized that fashions came… Read full post »
Marking the Bittersweet End of a Decade
The end of August has always proven a little bittersweet for me. A new school year begins at this time. As a nerdy student, and later as a teacher, I greatly anticipated the excitement and wonder that a new school year held. However, a new school year means summer is coming… Read full post »
The Ol' Apartment
My apartment in Athens. Ahhhh, memories!
For seven years I lived in the same apartment, in the town I fell in love with while getting a college education. I loved Athens so much, I stuck around and got my master's there. Through
Jill Kargman's "Momzillas"
Ever wonder what happens to the Bridezillas once they've achieved wedded "bliss"? Jill Kargman explores their ever-after (not quite so happily) in this fresh tale of a mom, plucked from a laid-back San Fransisco scene, and thrown in to the posh Upper East Side of Manhattan. Meet Hann… Read full post »
My Written Confession(s)
I find myself today on the brink of several realizations. Some serious, some just down right quirky.
Amongst those realizations:
1) I am addicted to saving money. "Wuh?" you're thinking? "How does that work?" you ask. Simple. I see an item on sale, with coupon(s)… Read full post »
"I'm sorry, but..."
"I'm sorry."
Why are those two words so very difficult to say? Even more so, why must they be followed by some excuse or rationale for the behavior in question?!??!?
It's something we've all done. We did something wrong, and apologized… Read full post »
"Never Argue with a Fool..."
A fellow Facebook friend sent this selection to a mutual FB friend:
"Silence frees us from the need to control others ... A frantic stream of words flows from us in an attempt to straighten others out. We want so desperately for them to agree with us, to see t

The Simpsons Channel
Dear Matt Groening and/or Fox Studio executives (whoever has the most power),
I would make a proposal to help The Simpsons live on forever: create an entire T.V. channel devoted entirely to them. I'm sure that you've had this idea pitched at you before, but/… Read full post »
Another Mom with Another Blog?? - Not So Much.
So here you have it: another mom creating another blog. Yipee! Better yet, a former-writer-turned-mom creating another mom blog.
Well, to be fair, I was never a "professional" writer. However, I was on my high school newspaper staff, and slacked around with the other h… Read full post »
