Touch
Don’t touch me
As I pass you by
Your words are empty
Be safe, let me go by
Tell me, traitors,
Do you ever stop and look?
Your lives are fetid
You’ve sickened all you took
What is a promise?
But the starting of a lie
Promises mean naught to you
So let them die
Trust, like air
Seeps free with every breath
Another lie you cling to
But still, we all meet death
You think the world
For you with glory shone
Look again with open eyes
What glory once, has gone.
Corrupted by your touch
As useless as your thoughts
You think you’re special?
Heed my words. You’re not.
You think you’re special
Why then such a shock?
You lack any understanding
Of the reasons I can mock.
I’m not like you
I thank what Gods there are
That I can hear
Faint laughter from afar
Through many years
I thought you all had worth
Now I smile and watch you trudge
Across your desolate earth.
So never touch me
Pass me only if you dare
Your sad pathetic breath
Can never make me care
I have my life and loves
And that’s enough for me
So pass on by
And leave me to be free
