Did I miss a novel writing day? Yes I did.
But, I did do writing. I recieved a rush job from a client in Germany who needed an edit on their technical paper - FAST. He's a repeat client and he pays well. Let this be a lesson for any writer who wants a writing job outside of novel writing - it drains your creatiivity and makes writing your fiction take an extreme force of will. Of course, this can be said to be true of many day jobs; however, I find that writing day jobs - such as journalism and non-fiction editing - are particularly draining.
At the end of the day I don't really have an excuse. I was poised to write after my wife, Kat, went to sleep at 10:30 last night, but I didn't. I had a sudden urge to cuddle with her and went to do so. My plan was to come back to do writing after a few moments of holding her, but alas, I fell asleep. I know, I'm a horrible person for cuddling with my wife instead of writing on my novel.
However, it is 5:30 AM and I am going to a cafe before I do my non-fiction writing that I have to do today. Likewise, chores are being pushed back and my phone is being turned off. It's time to - Get Writing!
