This is going viral on the web and I think it is awesome.   I have been unable to determine the author, grammar and spelling is as I found it.

I AM AN AMERICAN CONSERVATIVE

This morning I was awoken by my alarm clock powered by electricity generated by the public power monopoly regulated by the US department of energy. I then took a shower in the clean water provided by the municipal water utility.

After that, I turned on the TV to one of the FCC regulated channels to see what the national weather service of the national oceanographic and atmospheric administration determined the weather was going to be like using satellites designed, built, and launched by the national aeronautics and space administration.

I watched this while eating my breakfast of US department of agriculture inspected food and taking the drugs which have been determined as safe by the food and drug administration.

At the appropriate time as regulated by the US congress and kept accurate by the national institute of standards and technology and the US naval observatory, I get into my national highway traffic safety administration approved automobile and set out to work on the roads build by the local, state, and federal departments of transportation, possibly stopping to purchase additional fuel of a quality level determined by the environmental protection agency, using legal tender issed by the federal reserve bank.

On the way out the door I deposit any mail I have to be sent out via the US postal service and drop the kids off at the public school.

After spending another day not being maimed or killed at work thanks to the workplace regulations imposed by the department of labor and the occupational safety and health administration, enjoying another two meals which again do not kill me because of the USDA, I drive my NHTSA car back home on the DOT roads, to ny house which has not burned down in my absence because of the state and local building codes and fire marshal’s inspection, and which has not been plundered of all it’s valuables thanks to the local police department.

I then log on to the internet which was developed by the defense advanced research projects administration and post on freerepublic.com and fox news forums about how SOCIALISM in medicine is BAD because the government can’t do anything right.

Gotta love this! Thanks for sharing it.
I also include all the people in this country who are on Medicare or who have kids or family or are themselves on Medicaid but do not realize that is government run health care. !!!
Very funny.
And I'll bet he got his college education through the GI Bill. lol
Very clever and thought producing! Thanks.
good one. it's not about logic, reason, fairness, or even survival.

they just would rather burn in hell than see anyone else benefit from their* money.

*often inherited, at that.
Nice. I agree with al loomis.
This was well said and so true. I have an easy answer to the current healthcare reform disagreements. I think those who oppose government being involved should be consistent and refuse to be any part of the system. They should voluntarily not use Medicaid, Medicare and the V.A. hospitals and medical staff. They love their corporations so much then let them by insurance. This would solve everything.
Thanks everyone for your comments.

I just wish all those people with so much rage about government and health care would just think on their own for a minute. They might still have different opinions than mine but at least they would get them from something other than the RNC hate filled talking points.
Dr. Spudman, that's a good one!!,
Brilliant!! Love it, thank you so much for sharing this. This should get an EP for sure. Good to see you blogging again, I love everything you write.
I think I love you.
Oh, but imagine how much better all those things would be if AIG or Lehman Bros or Enron or WorldCom were in charge of them. Or the Big Three (or however many are left) car manufacturers.
Nicely stated. I may not adore paying taxes, but they go to pay for these things we tend to take for granted every day. I want lights that go on, and guns that don't go off. Or at least not in my vicinity and not often.

I hope the Center for Disease Control keeps working on a way to contain the Swine Flu virus, as well. And that returning Iraq veterans will get some form of help from a GI bill.

A, I am dying over here, girl! This is nothing short of brilliant...thank you for sharing it. HA!!
A wonderful, wonderful piece!!
Sing it, sister! Why didn't you link your article via comments to my blog?
Oh yeah!
Utterly brilliant! And while we're at it, how about all those teabagging veterans, who owe pretty much everything they've got to the US military, the GI bill, the VA, and Federal pensions? Do they really want to give all that up and work for... Blackwater...?
Seems something similar went around during the 2000 elections. Loved it then; love it more now. Thanks.

Great. I'm passing this on...and on....and on!
Things I took away from this:
Nasa Rules.
Department of Defense Rules.
USDA Rules.
The rest is all silly nonsense.
I happened to like it anyway.
