Bio
This blog is about the journey from here to there. Early posts have devotional poetry and prose with scripture included. Many deal with the difficulty of having people in my life who are living with cancer and have died from cancer. Now I'm focusing on going back to college in my 50's and discovering a new path to direct my art--which is art therapy. _________________________________________ All of the artwork I created unless otherwise noted. The Ways of Our Ancestors

Psalm 33

eve from adam600

Whether you look at the
lineage of Jesus through
Joseph or God
it can be traced back
to Adam.1

God the Father
gave Jesus his son
a stepfather
with a covenant
bloodline.
From Joseph the
heritage goes back to
Joshua through
David son of Jesse
and on back to
Jacob, Abraham,
to Noah and
lastly Adam,
the first son.

The covenant was
renewed throughout
the ages as in
Noah with the sign
of the rainbow
and promise
to David for the
anointing of his
descendants.2

Though some relatives
in their history
lost their way
the bloodline carried
their ancestor's faith
and God's promise.3

Christ comes as a
free gift
and pours from the sacred cup
covering the sins
of the first son.
The Second Son
whose grace is more powerful
than death,
exercises dominion over it
with life!4

Receive your free gift
covering the sins of your ancestors,
so that your descendants
may have the gift
of eternal life!

Oh Lord Jesus Christ
son of the bringing
of life over death,
help us to hold
you in our hearts
so that we may pass
on to our children
the lasting gift of
Your love!
May this life and love
spread for generations to come
never breaking
the golden cord
of your promise.

1Luke 3:
23.Jesus was about thirty years old when he began his work. He was the son (as was thought) of Joseph son of Heli, 24.son of Matthat, son of Levi, son of Melchi, son of Jannai, son of Joseph, 25.son of Mattathias, son of Amos, son of Nahum, son of Esli, son of Naggai, 26.son of Maath, son of Mattathias, son of Semein, son of Josech, son of Joda, 27.son of Joanan, son of Rhesa, son of Zerubbabel, son of Shealtiel, son of Neri, 28.son of Melchi, son of Addi, son of Cosam, son of Elmadam, son of Er, 29.son of Joshua, son of Eliezer, son of Jorim, son of Matthat, son of Levi, 30.son of Simeon, son of Judah, son of Joseph, son of Jonam, son of Eliakim, 31.son of Melea, son of Menna, son of Mattatha, son of Nathan, son of David, 32.son of Jesse, son of Obed, son of Boaz, son of Sala, son of Nahshon, 33.son of Amminadab, son of Admin, son of Arni, son of Hezron, son of Perez, son of Judah, 34.son of Jacob, son of Isaac, son of Abraham, son of Terah, son of Nahor, 35.son of Serug, son of Reu, son of Peleg, son of Eber, son of Shelah, 36.son of Cainan, son of Arphaxad, son of Shem, son of Noah, son of Lamech, 37.son of Methuselah, son of Enoch, son of Jared, son of Mahalaleel, son of Cainan, 38.son of Enos, son of Seth, son of Adam, son of God.

22 Samuel 7: 8.Now therefore thus you shall say to my servant David: Thus says the Lord of hosts: I took you from the pasture, from following the sheep to be prince over my people Israel; 9.and I have been with you wherever you went, and have cut off all your enemies from before you; and I will make for you a great name, like the name of the great ones of the earth. 10.And I will appoint a place for my people Israel and will plant them, so that they may live in their own place, and be disturbed no more; and evildoers shall afflict them no more, as formerly, 11.from the time that I appointed judges over my people Israel; and I will give you rest from all your enemies. Moreover the Lord declares to you that the Lord will make you a house. 12.When your days are fulfilled and you lie down with your ancestors, I will raise up your offspring after you, who shall come forth from your body, and I will establish his kingdom. 13.He shall build a house for my name, and I will establish the throne of his kingdom forever. 14.I will be a father to him, and he shall be a son to me. When he commits iniquity, I will punish him with a rod such as mortals use, with blows inflicted by human beings. 15.But I will not take my steadfast love from him, as I took it from Saul, whom I put away from before you. 16.Your house and your kingdom shall be made sure forever before me; your throne shall be established forever. 17.In accordance with all these words and with all this vision, Nathan spoke to David.

3 Hebrews 11:17.By faith Abraham, when put to the test, offered up Isaac. He who had received the promises was ready to offer up his only son,18.of whom he had been told, "It is through Isaac that descendants shall be named for you."19.He considered the fact that God is able even to raise someone from the dead?and figuratively speaking, he did receive him back. 20.By faith Isaac invoked blessings for the future on Jacob and Esau. 21.By faith Jacob, when dying, blessed each of the sons of Joseph, "bowing in worship over the top of his staff." 22.By faith Joseph, at the end of his life, made mention of the exodus of the Israelites and gave instructions about his burial. 23.By faith Moses was hidden by his parents for three months after his birth, because they saw that the child was beautiful; and they were not afraid of the king's edict. 24.By faith Moses, when he was grown up, refused to be called a son of Pharaoh's daughter, 25.choosing rather to share ill-treatment with the people of God than to enjoy the fleeting pleasures of sin. 26. He considered abuse suffered for the Christ to be greater wealth than the treasures of Egypt, for he was looking ahead to the reward. 27.By faith he left Egypt, unafraid of the king's anger; for he persevered as though he saw him who is invisible. 28.By faith he kept the Passover and the sprinkling of blood, so that the destroyer of the firstborn would not touch the firstborn of Israel. 29.By faith the people passed through the Red Sea as if it were dry land, but when the Egyptians attempted to do so they were drowned. 30.By faith the walls of Jericho fell after they had been encircled for seven days. 31.By faithRahab the prostitute did not perish with those who were disobedient, because she had received the spies in peace. 32.And what more should I say? For time would fail me to tell of Gideon, Barak, Samson, Jephthah, of David and Samuel and the prophets? 33.who through faith conquered kingdoms, administered justice, obtained promises, shut the mouths of lions, 34.
quenched raging fire, escaped the edge of the sword, won strength out of weakness, became mighty in war, put foreign armies to flight.

4 Romans 5:15.But the free gift is not like the trespass. For if the many died through the one man's trespass, much more surely have the grace of God and the free gift in the grace of the one man, Jesus Christ, abounded for the many. 16.And the free gift is not like the effect of the one man's sin. For the judgment following one trespass brought condemnation, but the free gift following many trespasses brings justification. 17. If, because of the one man's trespass, death exercised dominion through that one, much more surely will those who receive the abundance of grace and the free gift of righteousness exercise dominion in life through the one man, Jesus Christ. 18.
Therefore just as one man's trespass led to condemnation for all, so one man's act of righteousness leads to justification and life for all.
