Psalm 28

I will shout for joy
even though the times are troubled
Like the fishermen
who could not catch a thing
until Jesus said,
"try it over there".
So they did.
And lo and behold
their nets were bulging with fish!
This abundance was beyond their imagination--
it almost sunk the boat. 1
I will shout for joy
though I have frightening dreams
Mordecai,
who had a prophetic dream
saw his people
in great tumult.
He cried out to God
and a once tiny spring of blessing
became a great river of abundance2
I will shout for joy
when I'm taking risks
that I may see rewards
David and his people
in a merry parade
of harps and tambourines
were carrying the ark
to the tent.
In their jubilee there was
a chance that
if they didn't carry it correctly
it could mean death.
Unabashed in his rejoicing
David danced before the Lord with all his might.!3
I will shout for joy
against my adversaries.
Joshua lead the people at Jericho
to circle around the blockaded city.
Blowing their trumpets
stamping and shouting
the earth rumbled.
They were celebrating the
victory as if it had already happened.
On the seventh day the
joy of the people made the
walls come crumbling
down.4
With arms raised
I will run through the house
like a toddler
unable to contain
the pure joy of being alive!
Even when disciplined the child
quickly forgets
delighted for the next discovery.
Just as a parent disciplines their
child, so does God
for our own good
in order that we may
share his holiness.4
Let us look past the darkness
toward the light.
May we rejoice in our trials
being thankful for the
journey
knowing that our God
will bring us from
glory to glory5
reflecting a little more
of heaven on earth.
1Luke 5:4.When he had finished speaking, he said to Simon, "Put out into the deep water and let down your nets for a catch." 5.Simon answered, "Master, we have worked all night long but have caught nothing. Yet if you say so, I will let down the nets." 6.When they had done this, they caught so many fish that their nets were beginning to break. 7.So they signaled their partners in the other boat to come and help them. And they came and filled both boats, so that they began to sink.
2 Esther 11 (NRSV with Greek translations, Addition A)4:...and this was his[Mordecai's]dream:5. Noises and confusion, thunders and earthquake, tumult on the earth! 6.Then two great dragons came forward, both ready to right, and they roared terribly.7.At their roaring every nation prepared for war, to fight against the righteous nation.8.It was a day of darkness and gloom, of tribulation and distress, affliction and great tumult on the earth!9.And the whole reighteous nation was troubled; they reared the evils that threatened them, and were ready to perish.10.Then they cried out to God; and at their outcry, as thought from a tiny spring, there came a great river, with abundant water;11.light came, and the sun rose, and the lowly were exalted and devoured those who held honor.

32 Samuel 6: 3.
They carried the ark of God on a new cart, and brought it out of the house of Abinadab, which was on the hill. Uzzah and Ahio, the sons of Abinadab, were driving the new cart 4.with the ark of God; and Ahio went in front of the ark. 5.David and all the house of Israel were dancing before the Lord with all their might, with songs and lyres and harps and tambourines and castanets and cymbals. 6.When they came to the threshing floor of Nacon, Uzzah reached out his hand to the ark of God and took hold of it, for the oxen shook it. 7.The anger of the Lord was kindled against Uzzah; and God struck him there because he reached out his hand to the ark; and he died there beside the ark of God.
14.David danced before the Lord with all his might; David was girded with a linen ephod. 15.So David and all the house of Israel brought up the ark of the Lord with shouting, and with the sound of the trumpet.

4 Joshua 6:1.Now Jericho was shut up inside and out because of the Israelites; no one came out and no one went in.2.The Lord said to Joshua, "See, I have handed Jericho over to you, along with its king and soldiers. You shall march around the city, all the warriors circling the city once. Thus you shall do for six days, 4.with seven priests bearing seven trumpets of rams' horns before the ark. On the seventh day you shall march around the city seven times, the priests blowing the trumpets. 5.When they make a long blast with the ram's horn, as soon as you hear the sound of the trumpet, then all the people shall shout with a great shout; and the wall of the city will fall down flat, and all the people shall charge straight ahead."
16.And at the seventh time, when the priests had blown the trumpets, Joshua said to the people, "Shout! For the Lord has given you the city. 17.The city and all that is in it shall be devoted to the Lord for destruction. Only Rahab the prostitute and all who are with her in her house shall live because she hid the messengers we sent.
20.So the people shouted, and the trumpets were blown. As soon as the people heard the sound of the trumpets, they raised a great shout, and the wall fell down flat; so the people charged straight ahead into the city and captured it.
4 Hebrews 12: 6.for the Lord disciplines those whom he loves, and chastises every child whom he accepts." 7.Endure trials for the sake of discipline. God is treating you as children; for what child is there whom a parent does not discipline? 8.If you do not have that discipline in which all children share, then you are illegitimate and not his children. 9.Moreover, we had human parents to discipline us, and we respected them. Should we not be even more willing to be subject to the Father of spirits and live? 10.For they disciplined us for a short time as seemed best to them, but he disciplines us for our good, in order that we may share his holiness.
5 2 Corinthians 3: 18.And all of us, with unveiled faces, seeing the glory of the Lord as though reflected in a mirror, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another; for this comes from the Lord, the Spirit.

Thank you. This is wonderful.
Jali: I do feel the true Joy, truly. Meditating several hours a day makes a difference. Sometimes these aren't consecutive mind you, but sometimes they are. We must make an effort to meet God half way and he'll be glad to do the rest!
young girl it is just more bible stories in 70 lines....
what about your own " joy of heart"?
does spirit guide you to your own joy?
I wrote a double sonnet or 28 lines titled "Wild Joy" below
Why is it?
in this life
you only know
wild joy
as a boy….
Why is it?
that wild joy
is the exclusive dreams
only of a boy
like it’s only his toy….
Why is it?
that you seek it
the rest of your days
allusive as a fog bank
along the river bottoms….
Why is it?
that as an old man
with his days numbered
and only eternity ahead
wild joy has meaning….
Why is it?
that the seeking ends
in perceptive visions
of being a spirit
free from all things….
Wild joy is gifted happiness
Wild joy is being a free spirit
Wild joy is life decoded into grace
Virgil wrote`O happy gleaners, O happy,
and if you only knew. Bring in the sheathes.
We land caretakers will be rejoicing while-
thee scruffy farmers are bringing in `Gold.

Somewhere that is sung by Psalters. Yea!

Mail Call - by Randell Jarrell. (tease? Jar? Can! Cancan. Can what we can and jar what we can. riddle. It makes perfect sense. I hope.)

The letters always just evade the hand.
One skates like a stone into a beam, falls like a bird.
Surely the past from the letters rise
Is waiting in the future, past graves?
The soldiers are all haunted by their lives.
~
Their claims upon their kind are paid in paper
That establishes a presence. like a smell.
In letters and in dreams they see the world.
They are waiting:`and the years contract
To an empty hand, to one unuttered sound-
The soldiers simply wishes for his name.
I recall a old poem about a old letter.
The letter was a love letter reread.
After all these years, I never saw-
The letter has misspelled words.
`
it was an expression from a griever.
one who was deceased was loved.
after all these years She never saw.
She saw the letter as a love letter.
Art I liked that poem very much
I love poetry, I pray that I may write with such artistry one day. Please be patient my comfortable medium is paint and oh do I long to dip my fingers in it!
