Bio
This blog is about the journey from here to there. Early posts have devotional poetry and prose with scripture included. Many deal with the difficulty of having people in my life who are living with cancer and have died from cancer. Now I'm focusing on going back to college in my 50's and discovering a new path to direct my art--which is art therapy. _________________________________________ All of the artwork I created unless otherwise noted. Wisdom --the elusive mistress

Rate: 4 Flag
Psalm 14
fishing 600

Solomon was revered, as a
man with wisdom greater than many,*
Yet he himself said it is
as fleeting as the wind.**
Vanity, to think of
capturing elusive wisdom!
Just as the diamond light
sparkling on the surface
of a pond at daybreak,
who can contain it?
Who can command the storms
and hasten the harvest?
Who can sprout life in the desert?
Wisdom cannot judge by
the sight of her eyes
or the hearing of her ear!***
It is the discernment of the Spirit!
Yet, when should such a One
as our Father,
deem to bestow it's graces?
Let us always be ready as the virgins
with extra oil,****
to be taken to the heavenly realms!
There the mind of God
exposes the riches of wonder!
Draw back the curtain, oh Lord
let us receive your Great Counsel!
May I only be a fool for the granduer of You!*****
I open my heart to receive
the wisdom far beond
the confines of the mind.
I step out on the precipiceof logic
to the unknown of imagination!
There, where inventors and artists
reside may I bring with me
a little heaven to earth!
Bless You for possibilities!
Bless You for the music of the spheres!
Bless you All Creation!
Yours, I am forever an open vessel.

* 1 Kings 4: 29.God gave Solomon very great wisdom, discernment, and breadth of understanding as vast as the sand on the seashore,30.so that Solomon's wisdom surpassed the wisdom of all the people of the east, and all the wisdom of Egypt.31.He was wiser than anyone else, wiser than Ethan the Ezrahite, and Heman, Calcol, and Darda, children of Mahol; his fame spread throughout all the surrounding nations.32.He composed three thousand proverbs, and his songs numbered a thousand and five.33.He would speak of trees, from the cedar that is in the Lebanon to the hyssop that grows in the wall; he would speak of animals, and birds, and reptiles, and fish.34.People came from all the nations to hear the wisdom of Solomon; they came from all the kings of the earth who had heard of his wisdom.

** Ecclesiastes 2: 26.To the man who pleases him, God gives wisdom, knowledge and happiness, but to the sinner he gives the task of gathering and storing up wealth to hand it over to the one who pleases God. This too is meaningless, a chasing after the wind.Ecclesiastes 7: 23.All this I have tested by wisdom; I said, "I will be wise," but it was far from me.24.That which is, is far off, and deep, very deep; who can find it out?25.I turned my mind to know and to search out and to seek wisdom and the sum of things, and to know that wickedness is folly and that foolishness is madness

*** 1 Corinthians 1: 18: For the message about the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God.19.For it is written, "I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and the discernment of the discerning I will thwart."20.Where is the one who is wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the debater of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world?21.For since, in the wisdom of God, the world did not know God through wisdom, God decided, through the foolishness of our proclamation, to save those who believe.22.For Jews demand signs and Greeks desire wisdom,23.but we proclaim Christ crucified, a stumbling block to Jews and foolishness to Gentiles,24.but to those who are the called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God.25.For God's foolishness is wiser than human wisdom, and God's weakness is stronger than human strength.26.Consider your own call, brothers and sisters: not many of you were wise by human standards, not many were powerful, not many were of noble birth.27.But God chose what is foolish in the world to shame the wise; God chose what is weak in the world to shame the strong;28.God chose what is low and despised in the world, things that are not, to reduce to nothing things that are,29.so that no one might boast in the presence of God.30.He is the source of your life in Christ Jesus, who became for us wisdom from God, and righteousness and sanctification and redemption,31.in order that, as it is written, "Let the one who boasts, boast in the Lord."

****Matthew 25: 1."Then the kingdom of heaven will be like this. Ten bridesmaids took their lamps and went to meet the bridegroom. 2.Five of them were foolish, and five were wise.3.When the foolish took their lamps, they took no oil with them;4.but the wise took flasks of oil with their lamps.5.As the bridegroom was delayed, all of them became drowsy and slept.6.But at midnight there was a shout, "Look! Here is the bridegroom! Come out to meet him.'7.Then all those bridesmaids got up and trimmed their lamps.8.The foolish said to the wise, "Give us some of your oil, for our lamps are going out.'9.But the wise replied, "No! there will not be enough for you and for us; you had better go to the dealers and buy some for yourselves.'10.And while they went to buy it, the bridegroom came, and those who were ready went with him into the wedding banquet; and the door was shut.

Beautiful poem, Anne and the biblical verses fit the message.
Thank you Cathy, since I'm doing one every day, some are more inspired than others to say the least.
Much passion in this one.
AtHome-is there passion in this one? I don't know. I'm always trying to squeeze these in when I'm supposed to be working or attending to my motherly duties--usually tired while doing it. I contemplate at first it seems I'm always rushing.
Anne--I just love what you do! Your work is growing in beauty all the time--and it started off nice, to begin with! Seriously!
(Have you ever heard someone say that when you're tired is when Spirit comes through you for creating? As in, that's when we have no resistance!) Love & Light to you, Julie
Julieshanti: I've never heard that but I'll keep going, it really is one of my only outlets at the moment, as always, thank you so much for the encouragement!
