Bio
This blog is about the journey from here to there. Early posts have devotional poetry and prose with scripture included. Many deal with the difficulty of having people in my life who are living with cancer and have died from cancer. Now I'm focusing on going back to college in my 50's and discovering a new path to direct my art--which is art therapy. _________________________________________ All of the artwork I created unless otherwise noted. If you'd like to buy one of my paintings or contact me to say oh, give me a million dollars to help me in my artistic endeavors : acreator3@gmail.com. When Disaster Strikes

 Psalm 3

virgin matter 600

When a loved one endures extensive care
suffering though an illness,
we are there suffering too.
Yet through the pain, comes
LOVE, a love of the most enduring kind.
Even while you, Jesus, were
nailed to the cross dying,
as your mother stood beneath it,
You asked John to care for her as his own.*
Father, when You divide the land
causing death by the millions,
is it in anger?
Or are You being compassionate to
the ones you take up in your arms?
Are they not resting now in a greater place?
Surely the ones left behind are suffering.
What are they to do?
Shall they rejoice in their loss?
Shall they lament that they were not rescued
from their already weary place?
What is this Mystery of who goes and who stays?
Lord, help me to dig deeper into the purpose of suffering.
Father, you foreknew from the foundation
of the world that your Son would be born
to be brutalized, humiliated and abandoned.
For our greater good He did this because of His love for You,
trusting You're love for us.
Oh Lord, powerful creator and destroyer,
let us not see things the way the world sees them
but in the ever-flowing presence of your Spirit.
For as John himself said,
God is Love.**
* John 19: 25.Now there stood by the cross of Jesus His mother, and His mother's sister, Mary the wife of Clopas, and Mary Magdalene. 26.When Jesus therefore saw His mother, and the disciple whom He loved standing by, He said to His mother, "Woman, behold your son!"27.Then He said to the disciple, "Behold your mother!" And from that hour that disciple took her to his own home.
**1 John 4:8 He who does not love does not know God, for God is love.

It's tough when you see people suffering in Haiti, I can't go there, I have no money to give, all I can do is pray!
ACC- Sometimes prayers are what are needed the most :)
I am familiar with karma to a certain degree as a middle eastern term, if you're speaking of generational sin ---paying the price for our bloodline, our ancestors, yes maybe. As I understand it karma refers to past lives( that we ourself were someone else before incarnated on the planet) and that's not a Christian doctrine. I don't know if it is true. What I do know is that I have been relieved/set free from my own sin and that of my ancestors in a very real physical/spiritual way through Christ.
This prayer asks very fundamental, essentially unanswerable questions. But they must be asked, the anguish acknowledged. We will, I am convinced, not know in this life the meaningfulness of theodicy. Our minds cannot comprehend the pain. Perhaps that is part of what God is teaching: to rely on Him in the face of not being able to understand why bad things happen to good people. That was the lesson of Job, a lesson you, I and ever believer who is honest about his faith, does not want to learn. But learn we must.

Extremely well done, Anne.
Thank you Monte, for your insight and support, it means alot!
praying is all that can be done sometimes.
