It has been an amazing and wonderful winter on the Aegean, and this photographic love-letter to it is my farewell. Starting with this mother-daughter combo in the therapeutic red- thermal waters in Pamukkale.

This was my adopted cat, SugarGirl. She was so loving and over the top affectionate especially in the early part of the morning.

This face was found on the rocks near Pedesa. A town 6 km north of Bodrum that came to be after people from the destroyed town of Troy settled here.

This is from the grounds of Heirapolis, the ancient town above Pamukkale. The gate was open to a fenced-off part of the ruins. So I went in and photographed this and got kindly escorted out a few minutes later. This place has hundreds of great sculptures on broken marble that now rest here.

If you want cherished memories...then take lot of good photographs.
Your eye is simply magical. Astounding images....R
Wow, Algis. Just wow. You see the coolest things and bring them to us with your photos. Thank you and welcome home!
As usual -enchanting....It must be so hard to leave, like a home away from home......you've been there quite a while! I wish you the best on your return. I really like your born-in-stone pieces.
You have indeed taken a great many good photographs. Which have resulted in beautiful images for us to ponder.
Tremendous work, Algis, and the kitten video is priceless. What a treasure trove of photographs and memories you will have!
Bellissimo! It seems as if the photographs in Turkey reflect the vibrancy and excellent moment that the country is enjoying, whilst those in Athens are just of an irremediably lost, albeit, glorious past
Algis~ you make our world here beautiful....
Traveling back NH. Am in a place called Little Switzerland. Breathtaking views. I wish I had your eye for photography.
I love you photographs....and each time you post..I feel like I am there.
I hope to get that part of the world..one day. Fabulous work!
Great to see and hear you on that Pythogoras video!

Beautiful images. What a cool life you have. Almost as cool as Pythogaros.
A grand buffet for the eyes my dear Algis.
A feast for the would in all of us longing to see these treasures.

Thank you for this eye candy recipe on Foodie Tuesday.
WE have all been fed heavenly soul food...
What a great collection. Looking forward to more Born in Stone. I love you work. Inspiring in so many ways. Thank you.
Each photo you show us is a work of art, and each is more surprising than the previous. Marvelous, Algis. Thank you much for sharing this with us.
I hope you don't mind, but I've gotten to where I look forward to your photos to use as my computer desktop- the problem is deciding which one- but no problem, they make a wonderful slide show between scoring achievement tests online.

I don't have the time right now to watch, listen to all the videos- but The Kitten and the one on Pythagoras are wonderful- though I expected nothing less, and am looking forward to coming back to view the rest.

I would like to invite you, as someone whose artistic opinion I respect, to critique my latest effort at "Alpha Testing" the Chautauqua- at

Thank you in advance, and thank you as always for a refreshing pause in the morning
A walk through your memories, a thread to the quilt of your existence, designed to warm you but it also warms us. Thank you for sharing this.
Tremendous pics, love Sugar and your stone sculptures... I once made a baby lava dragon at the foot of Mt. Fuji. I can't imagine having a whole summer to enjoy the Aegean... green with envy.
You show us the most amazing things but the prettiest of all has got to be your Sugar Girl.
As usual, magnificent. R.
Beautiful - I am always so blown away by your art I don't have anyway of commenting that seems close to adequate
So much beauty on the earth. Thanks for sharing with us. And I am being a lot more conscientious about taking my camera with me and recording those special moments.
Your photos are truly amazing, Algis. Thank you.
This was fabulous. Loved the video about Pythagorus.
I found myself sad your winter in Turkey was over as well...I love your photographic winters in the Aegean !
Your new venture is just lovely.
I'd love to have a copy of Venus Eros Satre...how may I purchase if possible?
...and Welcome Home!
ps -- loved especially that first shot of mother-daughter....they look so content together, one just doesn't see that enough in our country. Maybe in Canada...
Sugar Girl is adorable! I'm certain we have her black twin over here.
That kitten video was delightful, and those purple flowers exquisite! Thank for once again brightening a day for me.
I don't know which I like best because they're all so astounding. I was struck by how the dogs you were feeding so closely resembled the dog mosaic. And the faces in stone everywhere!!!!!
I am enchanted.
You always take us with you on your magical journeys, and for that I am grateful. When I look at your gorgeous photos, all I can hear is Louis Armstrong singing, "What a Wonderful World." R.
What a wonderful May Day treat. Love your artistic sensibility and your sense of humor. Enjoyed the white daisy standout in the patch of purple.
I want these eyes of yours, Algis, when you die
in 50 yrs or so,
after filling many more scrapbooks...
put that in your will,
if you will...
i cannot imagine how it would be to see the world as
you do...so gorgeously beautiful...
but once i get those eyes, i will know....
Great photos as usual; the free standing arch is intriguing among other things.

Hope you feel better soon!
May I say...Your the best OK?

Amazing shots! Turkey is hands down the most amazing country I've visited. Such beauty, culture, history, amazing food, and the friendliest people a tourist could ask for. And don't get me started on the cats!
