Canadian Goose's Long Island Weekend with Horses Pix

Rate: 9 Flag

I spent the weekend down on Long Island in the Hamptons when I spotted this unlikely friendship. Who would expect a stray goose to hang with the horses ? it's funny and it's marvelous that these two creatures seem to trust one another. How could they not ? So I stuck around to see just what would come of this gathering and  a few minutes there you have it!

How wonderful, you are amazing. I have one of those big cheek smiles on now. Glad the horse finally smiled for the camera. Thank you.
Looks like they've bonded. Love these.

Dear sophieh,
Yes natures ability to bond different creatures is always fun and sometimes amazing. Thanks
Those are some very forbearing horses - kind of a Peaceable Kingdom in The Hamptons. :)

Dear Ann Nichols,

I am glad you pointed this out. Yes ,that area has a magical quality about it. Thanks
As always, your photographs are inspiring and life-affirming. Such a joy; thank you!
There is something wonderfully tranquil and calming about these images. Not so much a "lamb lies down with the lions" feel as it is simply a "live and let live" thing... Lovely.
Beautiful, just beautiful. R
